This is an old revision of the document!
Here's a basic rundown on how to use this wiki. Playing around on is very helpful too!
Tag Explanations
Major Tags
- lore - any and all world building goes in this tag. there's a number of specific lore tags, such as:
- fics - any fanfics that are part of the CHAPsverse
- character is the main character tag. Please also add one or more of the following:
- member - the writers and idea havers and whatnot. each member has their own tag for any content they're the primary contributor for. we will not be listing specific member tags
Other
- Whenever you see this symbol "☼"plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigi'm a tooltip!
i provide additional information, you can hover/press/click on it and it provides additional notes and whatnot
Naming Conventions
- tags are NOT case sensitive. The tag “OC” and “oc” and “oC” all will link to the correct page!
- member tags are the creator's preferred username. usernames may be formatted any way they like but can not contain certain special characters. if it becomes an issue, yuu will contact you.
- character pages depends on the species of the character
- humans and hybrids should be their given name or commonly used nickname, starting with a capital letter. if, in the future, we have multiple characters in the CHAPsverse with the same given name, we may extend to given and family names, western styled.
- pokemon are done in one of two way's
- if the pokemon has a name their profile title should be Name the Species
- otherwise, the naming convention for pokemon is Trainer's PKMN Species
- lore titles should be descriptive enough for someone to know what kind of content they're about to engage in
- use best judgement
Editing Guidelines
if you have a question about editing, reach out to yuu, preferably by discord!
- Please do not attempt to delete pages. Please create the new page, grab yuu and ask her to make sure all the link backs are working. she'll delete the old page.
- Don't be a jerk! Purposefully editing other people's content without telling them is a dick move.
- Everything should be saved in the root. That means do NOT put colons (:) in any of your file/page names.
- Yes URLs must be https://chaps.yuu.monster/doku.php. I love y'all but I'm not dealing with messing with the htaccess file again.
- You must be logged in to edit pages. Log in credentials are made by yuu.
How to Make & Edit a Page
- There are three ways.
- Search method: You use the search bar and try to find the page. It should say create or edit the page named after your query. Click the link to get to the page editor
- Link method: If you created a link to a page that doesn't exist, you can click on that link. It should say “This topic does not exist yet” - click on “Create this page” at the bottom to start editing.
- Direct method: type into your browser https://chaps.yuu.monster/doku.php/WHATEVER PAGE YOU WANT TO MAKE. It should load and say “This topic does not exist yet” - click on “Create this page” at the bottom to start editing.
- Editing is much simpler! If the page has already been made, you can click “Edit this page” to edit.
- If the page has sections, you can edit individual sections - look for the pencil icon at the bottom of the section.
- Pages are not case sensitive! a page named “Hello World” is the same as “HELLO WORLD” which is the same as “HeLlO wOrLd”. They'll all render to “hello_world”
- Pages with special characters in them (i.e. &) will have the special characters removed
- Nothing keeps until you click the “Save” button below the text box. If you go away from the page, you might get lucky and the changes you made might still be in the cache but there's no guarantee. Save, and save often!
Adding Images
- Look for the icon that looks like a mountain picture
- You should get a pop up
- It will give you an option to look for a picture that's already uploaded or to upload your own.
- MAKE SURE YOUR FILE NAME DOES NOT HAVE COLONS.
- There's no way to edit the file name so use at your own risk, make sure there's no identifying info in it
- When you choose a picture, you'll have three more things to choose: link target (if clicking the image will take you anywhere), alignment (decides if the image is aligned to the text of the page) and image size (small, medium, large or original). Once you make your choices, click “Insert”
- It will look like nonsense, {{:filename.filetype?someinfo&size |}}. After the “|” symbol, please put either alt text or image source/credits. Please also credit the artist with a link back somewhere on teh same page.
Formatting
This is not up to date! It's based on tiddlywiki, i need to figure out how to do it in doku
Tooltips
This is the tooltip icon ☼ Where ever you're adding the tooltip you will use the following code.
<autott> <content>whatever text you want☼</content> <tip>The body of the tooltip.</tip> <title>An optional title for the tooltip. Remove this line if you want</title> </autott>
More info and documentation is available at dokuwiki ☼plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigHello!
This is an example. you can do a bit of changing around
Tagging
- Tagging is simple.
{{tag>tag1 tag2 any other tags}}
- Please notes that tags should go at the (bottom? top?) of the page.
- Like page names they are NOT case sensitive, however if you write it like thIs, that's how it's going to show up on the page.
- Please only use one word tags and the canonical tags that are set up above. If additional tags are needed, please reach out to yuu.
- If you're tagging another user (such as someone you collaborated with), note that the tag for users is [[tag:THEIR USERNAME]]. All the other tags are as they are though.
- Adding Images with Captions ``«image-basic “IMGURL” width:“” align:“” caption:“” tooltip:“” alt:“”»``
- Adding Images with a Light Box ``«lbox “URL” 03 width:“30%”» URL``
- Once you finish editing, please make sure you save your edits (it looks like <i class=“far fa-dot-circle”></i> but with a bigger dot in the middle) and once saved, refresh the wiki <i class=“fas fa-redo fa-flip-vertical”></i>). Your tiddly likely won't be on the main page anymore but it should show up in the tags so long as you tagged it correctly!
- you can add font awesome icons to your tiddlys! to see available icons check https://fontawesome.com/v5/search?o=r&m=free.
